No More Lies by Rachel Abbott is a stunning #sleepstealer! Check out my #review for the @RandomTTours #BlogTour

No More Lies by Rachel Abbott, book eleven in the DCI Tom Douglas series, is, as expected, a complete sleep stealer!

Before I share my review as part of the Random Things Blog Tour, here’s the blurb…

It would be unfair to blame the woman I met tonight for turning my life upside down. She didn’t.
It was already upside down. I just didn’t know it.

Recently life has been good for Mallory Hansen: a great job, a lovely home, and a wonderful man, Nathan, to share it with.

But now she must ask herself: is it all built on lies?

A shocking accusation has been made against Nathan, and Mallory doesn’t know who to believe. He denies everything, but all the signs point to his guilt. She has learned to trust Nathan, but she also remembers the boy he used to be.

As teenagers, Mallory and Nathan were part of a close-knit group of six friends until a vicious argument drove them apart. Now, fifteen years later, they are back in touch – only to find themselves drawn into a web of mutual distrust, one by one…

The attacks on their lives are skilfully targeted, designed to hit them where they hurt the most, and when a young woman disappears and a baby is abducted, DCI Tom Douglas must try to unravel the past and discover who is the architect of their misery.

A DCI Tom Douglas Thriller

An utterly compelling psychological thriller, perfect for fans of Lisa Jewell, Elly Griffiths, and Jane Casey.

Here’s my review

This is another absolute belter from Abbott. She has a real knack for creating unusual and complex cases for her team to unravel and it’s no different in No More Lies.

Twisted webs of lies and deceit are at the core of this one, but there’s nowhere to hide when Douglas and his team get involved. Secrets of the past are coming back to haunt a group of old school friends and they haven’t got a clue who’s out to get them or why.

I had real trouble putting this one down. The depth of the characters and the layered plot meant it was impossible to do anything until I’d finished…Sleep was definitely off the agenda! It had me gripped from the start with just the right combination of high-octane thrills and wonderful character descriptions: the word ‘unputdownable’ is the perfect word for this one.

If you’ve missed any of this series, I would say this is a great starting point (if you’re not inclined to start at the beginning but like the sound of this one) as there’s a nice ‘break’ in a subplot that’s been running through the series so far so you’re almost on a clean sheet in that respect.

All in all, No More Lies is utterly fabulous, and you should read it NOW!
