#BlogTour Cast A Deadly Shadow by Roger Granelli narrated by Andrew Wincott #AmReading @RogerGranelli @MidasPR @audibleuk

It’s my stop on the blog tour for the new audio book Cast A Deadly Shadow by Roger Granelli today and I have to say what a fantastic read it was!

First, here’s the blurb …

With Cast a Deadly Shadow Roger Granelli has followed his exciting series of Palermo Stories with a full-length novel that is a fast-moving tale of murder, betrayal and lust.

Continuing their never-ending fight against the Mafia, detectives Carpanini and Bracchi have captured their longtime target, the gangster Bardolini, setting off a dramatic chain of events in which dangerous men of the Sicilian underworld get involved – each one with his own agenda.

Carpanini’s marriage is on the rocks, and Bracchi has a heart-rending choice of devotion over duty, and the redoubtable duo are in their tightest spot ever – threatened by three different Mafia entities, all trying to gain the upper hand, as the story twists and turns towards an explosive final climax.

My thoughts …

This is my first experience of Granelli’s work and boy was it brilliant!

First, I have to say how utterly amazing the narrator is. Andrew Wincott was captivating and brought the story and characters to life perfectly.

I fell completely into this book, it was gripping from the start. Granelli takes us on a thrilling ride to the Sicilian underworld and on a journey like no other into the murky Mafia underworld.

We meet detectives Carpanini and Bracchi, who, as the blurb tells us, are both fighting their own personal issues and the capture of one of the most wanted men doesn’t quite go as planned. Oh, yes, they have him hook, line, and sinker, but there are a lot of nasty men who want him back … and who will do anything to get him.

The plot and characterisation in Cast A Deadly Shadow are brilliant. Each character is layered and has a depth that makes it impossible not to become attached to them, both the good and bad guys!

The twisted plot is captivating from the from the start and I challenge you not to love it!

I bloody loved it!
