Twisted by name, twisted by nature … Steve Cavanagh’s latest crime thriller deserves all the amazing reviews it’s receiving.
A gritty rollercoaster that is best described by its title … Twisted …
If you’ve been under a rock for the last year or so and haven’t heard of this one yet, here’s the blurb …

BEFORE YOU READ THIS BOOK
I WANT YOU TO KNOW THREE THINGS:
1. The police are looking to charge me with murder.
2. No one knows who I am. Or how I did it.
3. If you think you’ve found me. I’m coming for you next.
After you’ve read this book, you’ll know: the truth is far more twisted…
My thoughts …
Where the hell do I start?
Seriously … Twisted absolutely blew my mind in its genius and terror.
I was gripped from the title and devoured every word of this tremendous thriller.
Genuinely stuck about how to even start writing this review as telling you about the plot risks spoilers and just harping on about its brilliance will make me look like a raving lunatic.
Here goes …
Cavanagh is the modern day John Grisham … his Eddie Flynn legal thrillers are beyond amazing. Book four in that series, Thirteen, came with the most genius tagline … The serial killer isn’t on trial, he’s on the jury … I mean … WOW!
And now we have Twisted.
What a book!
What an author!
We start with quite a normal book, Cavanagh builds a world around a family which seems fairly typical. Hard working husband, neglected wife … an affair … then things get interesting. The characters come to life and we see the hurt, the hate, rage, and need for revenge start to show. I could not put this one down.
I was up all night reading and at the 51% mark, it hit me. That What The Actual F**k moment and from then on I was lost to the ride.
The pace, the thrills, the twists didn’t let up … it was like punch after punch – BAM! Constant. In your face. BRILLIANT!
I loved every second of it and the only thing that upsets me about this one is that I can’t unread it and go through it all again.
I cannot wait to see what Cavanagh’s devious mind comes up with for his next one!
