#BlogTour Red Snow by Will Dean @willrdean @ptblankbooks #RedSnow #Tuva2 #TuvaMoodysonMystery #TeamTuva

Well, what can I say? Mr Dean has done it again … Red Snow is chilling, thrilling, and full of killing! What more can you ask for?

It’s my stop on the blog tour today and I’m sharing my day with the wonderful Ronnie Turner so make sure you check out her review too.

Here’s the blurb …

The eagerly-awaited sequel to Dark Pines

Two Bodies

One suicide. One cold-blooded murder. Are they connected? And who’s really pulling the strings in the small Swedish town of Gavrik?

Two Coins

Black Grimberg liquorice coins cover the murdered man’s eyes. The hashtag #Ferryman starts to trend as local people stock up on ammunition.

Two Weeks

Tuva Moodyson, deaf reporter at the local paper, has a fortnight to investigate the deaths before she starts her new job in the south. A blizzard moves in. Residents, already terrified, feel increasingly cut-off. Tuva must go deep inside the Grimberg factory to stop the killer before she leaves town for good. But who’s to say the Ferryman will let her go?

My thoughts …

Everyone’s favourite journalist is back, and let’s face it, since her appearance on our Kindles/bookcases on 7 December 2017, Tuva Moodyson has captured the hearts of crime thriller fans around the world and it’s not hard to understand why.

An outsider in a small Swedish town, Tuva is the resident reporter and the locals love to hate her. She doesn’t shy away from reporting the truth, no matter who it’s about and what they’ve done for the town.

Also, Tuva is deaf. It’s unusual for a main character to have any form of disability and I think this adds an extra depth to her, I find myself worrying that she’s forgotten to take her extra batteries when she’s out in those woods!

Tuva is everything young ladies should aspire to be. Strong, curious, intelligent, sympathetic but not a pushover, relentless but not nasty, determined but not to the point of belligerence.

She’s wonderful. Seriously well-thought-out and I’d love to know her in real life.

After the events of Dark Pines, Tuva is planning a new job in a new town until a week before she’s set to leave, a prominent figure in the town commits suicide. And Tuva sees it happen.

Immediately drawn to discover what would drive this person to do this, Tuva starts investigating the family history and business only to be met with another dead body.

Tuva’s journo spidy-senses kick in and she knows she needs to stick around to make sure the police investigate properly.

Once again, Dean takes us on a mesmerising journey for the truth. As Tuva comes up against characters who seem stranger than the norm for this close-knit community – even more so than the wood-carving sister and that’s saying something! – Tuva realises that the town’s loyalty to this family runs deeper than anything she’s encountered before but what does it mean in the grand scheme of things?

Just what is going on?!

As Tuva digs deeper into the family at the centre of the deaths, she uncovers secrets and lies and a tangled web of greed and deceit and my gosh it’s amazing!

Dean is a wonderful author. He has a such a wicked mind, and manages to bring the scenery to life on the pages.

Tuva becomes so embroiled in the goings on that it looking like she’ll never want to leave … or should that be she’ll never be allowed to leave?

You can find the answer to that out for yourself! Red Snow is out now, folks … go and get it now!

Many thanks to the team at Point Blank books and Anne Cater for my invite to the tour.

About the author …

Will Dean grew up in the East Midlands, living in nine different villages before the age of eighteen. He was a bookish, daydreaming kid who found comfort in stories and nature (and he still does). After studying Law at the LSE, and working in London, he settled in rural Sweden. He built a wooden house in a boggy clearing at the centre of a vast elk forest, and it’s from this base that he compulsively reads and writes. He is the author of Dark Pines.
