#bookhangover with Sue Moorcroft @suemoorcroft

I am so excited to welcome the brilliant author, Sue Moorcroft onto to my #bookhangover feature today, Sue has had a mega busy week, jetting around the country for free tea and cake where ever it’s on offer and I’m sure you’ll have seen her round at Rachel’s place this morning talking all thing Truth or Lie and now it’s time to see what gets her all off kilter!

Who are you and what do you do?

I’m Sue Moorcroft. As a novelist I write women’s commercial fiction and my current contract is with Avon. I also write short stories, serials, writing ‘how to’, columns and courses and I’m a writing tutor. I’ve won a Readers Best Romantic Read award and the Katie Fforde Bursary.

What gives you an actual hangover?

Any alcohol past my limit! I’m a bit of a lightweight. Gin and tonic is probably the drink that affects me least, hangover-wise.

What TV programme?

A good Formula 1 race. I’m an F1 addict and watch any coverage that I can. I read more than I watch TV but F1 takes precedence.

What film?

I had to stop and think about this because I don’t watch that many movies (again, too many books to read!). I’m going to say Star Wars (these days known as Star Wars Episode iv, A New Hope) because it’s one of the few films I can watch over and over, it engages me all the way through and I’m always sorry when it’s over.

What song?

In My Secret Life by Leonard Cohen because it expresses such honest emotion and most of us have been there at some time. But there are so many songs I could have nominated. I like singer/songwriters and sometimes have to switch over to instrumental music when I’m writing or I keep stopping to listen to their brilliant lyrics.

What food?

A good Thai or Chinese meal.

What person/people?

My gym buddies and my writing buddies.

Finally, which book?

A Town Like Alice by Nevil Shute. I feel as if I’m always nominating this book but it was the first adult book I remember reading, the first big love affair and the first big brave story arc. Rereading it every few years, I’m never disappointed.

Thank you so much for sparing me some time today Sue, I know how immensely busy you have been recently and I really appreciate your time xx
